Welcome
Dear Parents,
I am Jammieca Godfrey, 7th-grade math teacher. One of our goals at Oak Grove Middle School is to help your son/daughter work toward graduation. In order to achieve that goal, a few key factors are required for success. Attendance is crucial. If a student misses school, he or she misses instructional time and work. It is up to the student to take responsibility upon returning to school to get and complete any missed work. Organizational skills are also important. Planners that can be kept in the student’s notebook allow them to record assignments in class. In order to keep papers better organized, make sure they have a three-ring binder with dividers set up for each class.
It is very important for you as parents to hold your child accountable for school work. If you do not have an account set up for Active Parent, I would strongly encourage you to do so. This would allow you to view their grades on a regular basis and be aware of both the good grades as well as the poor ones.
Some of our students do seem to have difficulty remembering assignments. Please visit Google Classroom for updates.
If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me via School Status or e-mail.
